Fall line up for The Boys Club

Now that it is August in Calgary (meaning summer is officially over), I'd love to get some feedback on events for the fall.

I'll get back to business and update the website ASAP, but in the meantime, here's a sneak peak at the line up!

- September - Casual after-work drinks to meet up, reconnect and get into fall mode.

- October - Decidedly Jazz Danceworks is performing their very cool, "Wow and Flutter." Kimberley Cooper had the chance to work with Amon Tobin (musucian) to choreograph Wow and Flutter. Come and see the performance, then hear how it all came about while enjoying a drink at The Grande Theater. An amazing show and a great story about what it is like to collaborate with someone you admire.

- November - An evening at Sublime Energy Medical Spa. Learn about their holistic approach to taking care of your body (they also do a great job at making you look fabulous!). A glass of wine, some appetizers and a look at my favourite place to get a facial :)

Let me know your thoughts on these events, if you love 'em or hate 'em - now is the time to speak up!

Looking forward to seeing everyone,

Sarah

The Boys Club - an update for summer

Hey there -

We're running into a bit of a snag for a whiskey and cigars tasting, due to Calgary Health bylaws :) so we might change it to a straight-up whiskey tasting, near the end of the month.

Then, so you can all enjoy summer, the following event will be the first week in October. We're hoping to partner with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, for an amazing performance featuring a score by Amon Tobin. After, the choreographer will chat about what it was like to work with such a great musician and how it all came together. It promises to be very cool.

Hope everyone is well,

Sarah Blue

The Boys Club March Fashion Event

Well, it turned into something other than I'd orginally envisioned, but it was pretty cool. It was great to experience what some of Calgary's young designers are coming up with, as well as mixing with a wide variety of people.

The next Boys Club event will be small! We're still in the planning stages, but it'll the opposite of big and loud - think intimate, cozy and great for conversation. If anyone has any feedback, I'd love to hear from you. Also, if anyone thinks they'd like to sponsor an event, I'd love to hear from you as well :)

The Boys Club January Wine Tasting Event

Ok, so I'm a little behind on getting an update out on how everything went :) I was struggling to figure out the best way (meaning, something that even I can update) to add new stuff to the website. My solution: A blog! I thought adding a blog to the site would be a great way for everyone to comment on events and give suggestions. Let me know what you think.

Hearing Margot talk and meeting up in January was great! I'm hoping everyone enjoyed the food and wine as much as I did.
David took some really great photos, if you'd like to see more than what I've got here, please check out the rest of the set over on his Flickr site.

A big thank-you to Margot for coming out. I'd also like to thank 100 WInes (how many of you have been back to buy some stuff there?), David Gluzman for photographs and Flume Studios for designing the awesome website!

I've just posted the details for March 26th, so check them out and hope to see you there.
